The next morning, Jacob was at the lobby coffee shop for his morning latte with his friends. Yosef came out with the paper.

“Quick action by bellhops and security guards prevents a catastrophe at the St. Xavier,” Yosef read from the front page of the metro section. He placed the paper on the table. “A nice photo of our bellhops and two security guards on the staircase in the St. Augustine.” He turned the page.

“Look,” said Josh. “A still from the security camera in the area. It has all four of you. Gabriel, Rafael, Bruno, and Jacob, surrounding the car,” he read from the article. “Gabriel Brannigan broke the window so Bruno Becker could open the door, cut off the ignition, and unlock the doors, allowing Jacob Jensen and Rafael Alvarez to pull the driver from the car.”

Reading further down, Bruno pointed to a particular paragraph. “It describes the accident as suspicious, but what would make someone having a diabetic episode turn ninety degrees and hit the door?”

“Gabe and Raff stopped us just before the accident.” Jacob looked at Josh. “If they didn’t, we would all have been at the podium with no time to get out of the way.”
